Happy 3rd Anniversary to my baby, God's vision, and God's blessing, Present Choice Center!!!!

Within 3 years, there has been plenty of ups and downs. Learning to be an entrepreneur, running services, and marketing said services.  All the while, I have been parenting, working the traditional job, and dealing with grief. My mom passed at the end of 2019. Present Choice was established in June 2020. (Today, duh ☺️). And every year before that, I have been healing, relearning, deconstructing, and rebuilding my foundation of me.

I wish my mom could see me now! Her prayers, her worries, and her tears were not in vain. "Hey Mommy, I made it!" I never got to tell her I passed as a Certified Christian Life, Marriage, and Mental Health Coach. She never got to stay with my daughter and me in the house which reminded me of a Brownstone. (I am from Brooklyn NY, IYKYK)😆. We weren't able to talk about a lot of things because of her health and my worrying about her. A few things about my mom were, she was strong, she was resilient, she was a force to reckon with. She was my hero! She was a survivor 3x times with Cancer and a lot of other health challenges to her body. And when she sang, she sung like the angel she was. Oh and her faith was impeccable! And yet, she struggled with all these things listed above due to these challenges and life lessons she didn't get to apply. (although she was working and applying what she could, 😘).

It's no secret why I talk about healing is required. My mom was raised in an era where secrets were normal. Mental health is a lie (talk to Jesus and pray). Lastly, mind your business and stay in your role. So to be the opposite of that and raise your children to be the same, was her challenge. She desired for us all to have a voice, but she would confuse the message with how she was raised. So her children now are relearning a lot of cool things and hard lessons at the same time. We are all owners/operators of businesses. We are either married with children, married, or single with first-borns'. We are stronger siblings and do check-ins weekly. We are stronger because of her!

I am writing this blog differently because I am yet on a new journey of healing. God has been merciful and gracious towards me and my daughter. My daughter is amazing! One day, I'll talk about her. Just know, her story is loading too, 😉.

As I celebrate 3 years of helping others re-learn themselves through my services, I can only hope my mom is proud of me. (I know she is, I'm just saying). She is the reason all her children/legacy loves to help others in some form or fashion. We are all learning to not pour from an empty place. We are learning to heal from past trauma and unhealthy responses. I am learning to love, be free, and be whole. I am learning! God has given us all a gift and it is up to you to accept it, open it, and use it correctly. Listen... Life be lifing! And God is still the giver of all life.

This blog is different because I am different. I am not the same person 3 years prior. And to be honest, that scares me too! This new lap of life is gonna hit differently. And I am here for it!
